Terms of Use for My Pantry

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the My Pantry mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

My Pantry is a meal planning and recipe management application that allows you to:

• Track pantry ingredients and expiration dates
• Generate AI-powered recipe suggestions based on available ingredients
• Create and save custom recipes
• Scan recipe photos and videos to create recipes automatically
• Plan weekly meals and manage shopping lists
• Access recipe bundles and meal plans (with purchase)

3. User Accounts

To use the App, you may create an account or use guest mode:

• Account Creation: You must provide accurate information and maintain the security of your account credentials.
• Guest Mode: You may use the App without creating an account, but some features may be limited and data will not persist across devices.
• Account Responsibility: You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
• Account Termination: You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. User Content

You retain ownership of all content you create in the App, including:

• Custom recipes
• Photos and videos
• Pantry lists and meal plans

By uploading content to the App, you grant us a license to store, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the App's services to you. We will not share your content with third parties except as described in our Privacy Policy.

5. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws
• Upload content that infringes on intellectual property rights of others
• Upload harmful, offensive, or inappropriate content
• Attempt to reverse engineer, hack, or interfere with the App's functionality
• Use automated tools to access or scrape data from the App
• Impersonate others or provide false information
• Share your account credentials with others

6. In-App Purchases

The App offers optional in-app purchases including:

• Recipe bundles from featured creators
• Premium meal plans
• Subscription-based premium features (if applicable)

6.1 Payment Terms

• All purchases are processed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store
• Prices are in U.S. dollars and may vary by region
• Payment will be charged to your Apple/Google account upon purchase confirmation
• Purchases are managed by RevenueCat and subject to their terms

6.2 Refunds

• All sales are final unless required by applicable law
• Refund requests must be submitted through Apple App Store or Google Play Store
• We do not directly control refund decisions; they are handled by Apple/Google

6.3 Cancellation

• For subscription purchases, you may cancel at any time through your Apple/Google account settings
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
• No refunds will be provided for unused portions of subscription periods

7. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, features, code, and content (excluding user-generated content), is owned by Tom Mann and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the App without explicit permission.

8. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with third-party services including:

• Google Firebase: Data storage and authentication
• OpenAI: AI-powered recipe generation
• RevenueCat: Purchase management
• Spoonacular API: Recipe suggestions

Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services or their availability.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Accuracy of recipe information, nutritional data, or ingredient suggestions
• Suitability for dietary restrictions or allergies
• Uninterrupted or error-free operation
• Security of data transmission

IMPORTANT: Always verify recipe ingredients and nutritional information. Consult healthcare professionals for dietary advice. We are not responsible for allergic reactions, food safety issues, or health problems resulting from recipes or suggestions provided by the App.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Loss of data
• Loss of profits or revenue
• Food-related illness or injury
• Damage to property

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP (IF ANY) IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Tom Mann and the App from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your use of the App
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights
• Content you upload to the App

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting in the App or on this page. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms. We will notify users of significant changes through the App or by email.

13. Changes to the App

We reserve the right to:

• Modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature of the App
• Change pricing for in-app purchases
• Update the App without notice

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and the state in which the developer resides, without regard to conflict of law principles.

15. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved through:

1. Good faith negotiation between parties
2. If unresolved, binding arbitration (if permitted by law)
3. Small claims court (for qualifying claims)

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

17. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Tom Mann regarding the App and supersede all prior agreements.
